Moe's Story

S.P.A. was contacted by an extraordinary couple who reside on the West Virginia/Ohio border. They rescued this kitten from their yard. There is a nearby, well-maintained feral cat colony a short distance from their home, but it became immediately obvious to them that "Moe" shouldn't be 'living in the wild'.

His left eye needed immediate attention, so they took him to their veterinarian's office and learned that Moe's eye would need to be removed, surgically. Apparently, he was born with a deformity to his left eyeball, and unless the eye is removed he will suffer severe, life-long eye irritation. He is blind in the affected eye.

They can't keep Moe because they already have a houseful of rescued animals... so they contacted S.P.A. They are paying for all of Moe's medical expenses. He has been tested for FELV/FIV (negative) and has received all first shots. He will be neutered when they remove his eyeball, and that surgery will be done today, Wednesday, July 18th.
