I didn't know anything about the big moon till I heard it on the news this morning. Of course we wouldn't have been able to see it here anyway - overcast and light rain most yesterday and last night too.

The "super moon" actually woke me up in the middle of the night. I had not rolled my shades down and the light was so bright - it was really gorgeous!!

I got to see it for awhile, but it clouded up before it was at its best.

    It woke me up too.

So did all the hair all over my body and the urge to howl was pretty annoying, too.

It has been cloudy and gloomy here for the last week (when did I move to Seattle?) so I only saw it on TV.

    Wow!

I noticed it, too. It was amazing to see! Perhaps that's why I didn't sleep well.

The distance to Earth varies with approx. 50.000 km. At Saturday the distance between the Earth and the Moon was down to 356.577 km. That means a difference of 15% and a difference in light at more than 30%.

We had a great view of it...it was like daylight all around us. Just awesome. I was long asleep but brightness woke me even with the blinds closed.
