    The Hunger Game?

I woke up this morning to the Cliff Notes version of the "Hunger Games".

I was asleep in bed and heard Ed, on the floor, near the foot of the bed.

He was meowing in his gentle way, reminding me that there is a bag o' treats in the pantry and he wanted some.

I reminded him that it was too early in the morning to be bothering me for food.

    -------------

I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep.

I don't know if it was a few seconds or a few minutes later, but I heard him on the bed, the nightstand and then
felt The Edster climb on top of me.

He mewed once and stretched out on top of me.

    I was now his CatNest.

After a few minutes of laying there, pinned down by a purring cat and wondering what came next?

The Edster climbed off, went back to his floor post and began to cry again.

    (The Crying Game, maybe?)

I got up, went to the pantry and gladly tossed out a few treats for my buddy.

We both won during this session of our very own Hunger Games.

He got fed some treats and I got to go back to sleep.

You are such a wonderful cat dad! It really isn't much they ask for, is it? How can we resist the purr and the meow? I know I can't.

Give Ed a scratch for me.

    I love hearing about him.

How can you resist a plaintive cry and a purr? Especially early in the morning. It takes so little to SHUT THEM UP! Ed has you very well trained, doesn't he?

I don't have that problem. The CREW knows that it's almost imposible to wake me. (except gaging). So mom gets the job. 4:30 every morning, when they finish eating a couple come back to bed and snuggle untill 5:30. I do have a couple that don't move untill I do, then they hit the food bowls to eat.
