How Do I Get Out Of The Door?

My puppy always pushes and shoves when you try to leave the house. We have to take a bone to the door and throw it into the living room. Can you help me figure out an easier way.

P.S. We have already tried the backyard.

How about training the dog to sit and stay in the living room. Have the dog sit and then say "stay" and walk to the kitchen or where ever. Then if that works, give him a treat. Continue that until you can walk out to get the mail with him trying to get out.
