    mouth problem

I have a 9 year old chinese crested. I was brushing his teeth tonight and noticed a crusty black residue forming on the outside of one side of his mouth. Upon pulling his lip away I noticed his lip looked swollen and grey/ red. Any ideas? Poor guy is full of health problems so we frequent the vet. He was there 2 weeks ago and has another appt dec 1. Trying to avoid a trip in between if we can for his sake.

Yikes. I know Chinese Crested are prone to tooth problems. Does he let you brush his teeth at all? If it seems tender, you should problem get him to the vet now, rather than wait, so he's not in pain, poor guy.
