    Misleading TV programs

Ran across a phenomenon I intensely dislike. I DVR'd and watch "The Rise of Black Wolf" as it said it was about a wolf's life in Yellowstone. And it was interesting, and I was rooting for the character, until the very end when it said something like "This was based on several different individuals using the best Nat Geo footage from Yellowstone" - Well, if it wasn't the story of one particular wolf, why portray it that way? At least tell us in the beginning that it is made up/fictional "based on a true story or three .." ...

I don't get why they would mislead people like that! Have you ever run into one of those?

It's called ratings, Karen. It seems some stations are desperate for viewers (such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians) to tune in. Sad.

You had me curious, so I spent a few moments using Google.

The "best" description I could find -- and there isn't much out there, surprisingly! - is on here:
    http://www.steamboatlibrary.org/even...the-black-wolf

IF what that says is true - 300 days per year for 8 years - then I guess they used some footage along the way for other programs? Maybe.

Oh wait! There is a whole discussion forum about it!

Now I agree with you, THAT is annoying!!!!

At first when I saw your thread title, I thought you were heading towards something else. I've seen characters on shows state they are "slightly diabetic" as one example.

Donna, I expect it from MTV, home of "The Hills, Kardashians, etc., but not from National Geographic!
