    Can I start teaching my dog tircks even though shes old??!?!?!?!

    My dog Molly is a cockerspaniel and she is 4 is it really too late to start teaching her tricks at her age??????????????

    I certainly hope not...don't believe that old saying about not teaching old dogs new tricks. She's not old!

    I agree with Logan - as long as she is alive, she can learn! It will probably be fun for both of you, too, as long as you keep her learning fun!

    You can teach an old dog new tricks.
    I tought my shephard/akita mix Felice to
    "be cute" she looks like she's begging. She is almost eight years old

    Well, I've been of the opinion that dead is too old to teach new stuff to dogs for a long time. We had several kids in 4H that brought the family pet to the obedience project and most of them were well over the "preferred" 6 months of age. Start with treats and positive reinforcement and you'll be amazed at what she can learn. Try teaching the "shake" trick first and see how she does. Good luck.
