Thread: Eddie thanks PetTalk

    Eddie thanks PetTalk

I have been on PetTalk for over ten years and have learned so much. Eddie may not thank PetTalk today, he is rather annoyed at the moment, but he will when he feels better..

I noticed the last week his behavior was different - he seemed lathargic, not wanting his usual attention, hiding from me if I tried to get close.

From PT I knew to watch how he was eating and drinking and eliminating. All seemed normal. But he seemed to be bothered by his ears.

I took him to the vet this afternoon (they loved him - the feeling was not mutual) And they treated his ears. Sure enough full of bacteria and yeast.

So in a few days my baby boy will be back to his usual self - thanks to the things I have learned on PT!

Glad to hear that Eddie will be feeling better soon. I know that I've learned a lot from PT also. It's made me a much better pet-parent.

Time helps the sadness subside, but the memories remain forever.

What was Eddie's attitude toward Edwina during this time? Different?

Poor Eddie!! I hope he feels better soon! Please give him some loves and scritchies from me. Ears are such a bother, just ask Honeybun, who has ear problems 365 days a year from being FIV+ (yeast etc... builds up easily).

I don't think it ever goes that way - i.e. Eddie toward Edwina. It is always Edwina toward Eddie...and she has been a little more...difficult. Perhaps she has "smelled" weakness???

I'm sorry to hear that Eddie has ear problems but I'm glad that you were able to realize that something was going on with him. Cats are so good at hiding their illnesses. I too have learned so much about cat health from this wonderful forum. I hope that Eddie will feel much better soon.

Oh Eddie, it's no wonder you felt rotten, ear pain is the worst! I'm so glad your secretary noticed that something was wrong and took you to the vet - I'm not surprized they loved you.

I hope you are already feeling better, dear boy, and perhaps miss Edwina will let you snuggle up in bed until you are back to normal.

Fister sends purrs and I send lots of healing thoughts and kisses.

Glad to hear that Eddie is doing better. PT is a good place for sharing, encouragement and learning, which is why I joined in the first place.
    Blessings,

So glad Eddie's problem is fixed! I have to tell you, PT just taught me something else-yeast in the ears? I had no idea!

Kisses to Eddie and Edwina from Pinot & me!

So glad that Eddie's ear-ouchies will soon be a thing of the past. We have learned so much from Pet Talk too!

Sorry that you were feeling poorly Eddie, but glad you are on the
road to good health again. The white coats are good for something so
it's best to tuff it out on your visits. You are a brave boy & I hope you
    start feeling better very soon.

I agree PT is a great place to share our pet experiences. We all get
to learn things from each other.

I hope Eddie's ears are all better soon! Did they give his ears a good cleaning there and send you home with ear drops (and a cone)?

PT does have great information. I found out here about Feliway. It saved at least one cat's life when I told the owners about Feliway. They were tormented and heartbroken about euthanasia and had tried everything to stop the kitty's inappropriate peeing. Feliway saved the day - and the kitty!

Aw, Eddie so sorry you have aching ears!!! Now be a good boy and let your mommy take care of your ears. You want to be able to hear when treats are being offered, after all.
