    Heidi Being Spayed Today

Heidi is being spayed today, also getting a chip put in and getting 2 baby teeth pulled, took for 8:40 this morning, was happy to see other dogs there, she gave the vet Dr.Hoogers some licks, she got weighed, she is the same she was about 2 weeks ago(15.2 pounds) so the walks are helping. We can phone after 2 to see how she is and get her around 4.She can have a little water tonight,no food, may make her bring up,food for sure tomorrow. She can't jump ,run around and play for 10 days to 2 weeks, has to be on a leash when going out.We will have to watch the incision for infection, don't let her lick it,may put a cone around so that can stop her from licking.
thanks very much devon. I have been boo'd.

Awww, while it is scary when they are away getting this done, you will be so happy to have her back home. And I'm sure she'll love all the TLC she will get too.
Keep yourself busy today so you won't worry too much about her.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Tell her to be good to everyone, and she'll be fine! Good luck keeping her quiet while she heals!

Just caught this now. I think Heidi must now be home and recuperating, right?

Instead of the cone, often for these small breeds a baby onesie works fine!

    Heidi Update

Heidi had some food last night,2 Iams bones and 2 small dishes of her food, she slept a lot, near me on the carpet and with mom in her chair and on the floor at her feet. She has ate this morning, had some when she got up,just a few minutes ago,was wanting to up to eat and had a drink of water, she went out twice yesterday, she really hasn't had a lot of food since Wednesday before 6,once she eats regularly again, she will go out and do her business. She tries to lick the incision,it itches her,we discourage that,Mom checked the incision today and it looks good.

Aww, Heidi, sweetie. I know the site itches as it heals but please, please try not to lick it. I'm so glad you're home!
