Awwww...the bigger the better. More to love! How about a crib mattress?

Yep, I've seen people use crib mattresses. Maybe pick up a used one?

If you do a mattress, I suggest a water proof cover, and then the top cover which can be removed and washed.

Costco or Sam's Club has HUGE ones that I've seen.

I thought about this some more and now I have a better idea. Buy them their own couch!

I went searching old threads; seems to me RobiLee had posted about an awesome big bed she found. But I couldn't locate it.

I did find a post one person advised: take the sofa cushions from and old couch someone is throwing away. You can cover them, and they work well!

Or, you can make your own, Stace posted a hilarious thread here with instructions and photos:

I couldn't see if she posted a link for it. You could send her a PM if you are interested in it.

If they are not chewers a good bed is to get foam cut to size at an upholstrey/hobby shop and make washable covers or use dog blankets to cover (they can be washed frequently and you can get them with waterproof backing). This gives a warm, supportive bed that is reasonably easy and cheap to replace when it has been "slept out" and also keeps your dogs out of any drafts and can be cut to fit any space.
