    Recycleable Toothpaste Tubes?

    An idle query.

With so many products being packaged in biodegradable or recyclable materials, it occurred to me recently that toothpaste isn't one of them.

Just found it kind of weird/interesting. Has anyone seen new 'green' packages for this stuff? I think the containers would take up a lot of landfill, as it's used so much.

I think they would be difficult to recycle because of the toothpaste residue left in the tubes. Unlike bottles and jars etc etc that can be cleaned easily.

I did some reading up - I guess they all can be recycled. Some people cut them open to rinse them out.

Any plastics etc that need to be clean I just do with my dishes. Mind you, I do my dishes by hand.
