    Pray's Needed

I would like to ask for some prays for my husband. He has been battling migraines for about over 3 weeks now and we have been to the ER about 3 times I think now and they can't help him either. He's been on all kinds of meds and they haven't helped either. He hasn't been at work for a full day in over 3 weeks. He was diagnosed with Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome back in 2009 and it's been a rough rough time. I thought things were getting better when he was off work for a while (x-mas break) but then as soon as he started working again he's been having migraines daily and they won't go away. I'm just so worried about him. Things have been so rough for him and we are looking into seeing a different neurologist to see if maybe they will be a little more caring etc. The pain in the butt part is he has an FMLA from work so when he doesn't go into work he has to go to the doctors or to the ER to get an excuse for missing work because his doctor won't write one unless he is in there which I think is just silly because he doesn't do anything for him and it's a waste of my time away from work as well.

I guess that's all for now...Hopefully soon someone will be able to help him and get this migraine to go away.

Is there something in the environment where he works that could be causing the migraines - like chemicals or such? Or is it a stressful job and he is just working himself up into a migraine? From what you write - it sounds work related - somehow.

Hope he can get to the root of the problem and get feeling better soon. Migraines just aren't fun!

Prayers that you both find the help you need. Migraines are terrible.
Did the Dr. help your husband identify any triggers for them?

Prayers for your husband and you both. I hope this condition can be cured or at least eased.

I'm sorry to hear this. Lots of prayers and positive thoughts are being sent his way.

Yes, I've also heard that they can do tests or at least have your husband keep a diary of the food he eats to see if it's diet related. It could also just be caused by stress.

Prayers that an answer is found soon! Have they checked for a possible aneurysm, Melissa?

Prayers, of course. Take Catty1's advice and have them check for an aneurysm, Melissa. We don't want to scare you but this sounds scary in itself.

They have done an MRI on him not too recently but we have taken him to the hospital but they don't x-ray him because he tells them he has a migraine. He is still sick again today....I came to work today, I felt like staying home with the ice and stuff but the roads weren't bad and when I got to work the other 2 ladies who answer the phone if I need to go for an appt. called off so I'm really stressin because I feel I should be home but yet I'm here at work. I feel so pulled right now. He is miserable nothing seems to help, he can't sleep. I will check about the food diary with him but right now he just isn't getting any sleep which isn't helping his head.

Maybe I should call his doctor and ask if they could check for an aneurysm. This has just been going on for too long now.

Thank you all for your prays.

He has to find his triggers himself.. This is a list of known triggers and how to find out which ones are his..

He also needs to find a doctor that will work with him on trying medications that will work for him. Keep looking and trying doctors until you find the right one..

A major trigger for many people (me included) are dramatic changes in the weather (i.e. barametric pressure). Given the weather we have been having it might be valuable to include that information in with the food diary.

I'm home today with a migraine b/c of the weather change here.
I've got all kinds of triggers. Any food at all from Jason's Deli (which I love and can't have now), walnuts, pistachios, ball park hot dogs, the list goes on. I have more that I can't have than I can have.

Hope he finds more relief than I have found.
