    Our day at Dutch Wonderland

Brian scheduled today off work so we went to Dutch Wonderland. it's a theme park here in Lancaster geared towards young kids. it's great and we had a wonderful time. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. 85 but no humidity and a beautiful breeze was blowing all day. perfection.

our day started with breakfast out... hannah had fruit loops because she can't have eggs and she doesn't like pancakes or waffles (I know... weirdo)

    Just arrived at DW

Getting ready to ride the Sky Line with daddy

This was her running to me like she hadn't seen me in ages after the ride LOL

Every good theme park has a princess... in Hannah's opinion lol

    The cars were next

this is a less than flattering photo of me lol but don't worry... there are shorts under the skirt so you can't see my gitch or... any other things LOL

Then we decided to catch a show. This was a really cute one too. it was a diving show and the idea was there was a princess and a castle (of course lol) and the court jester and her pet dragon "Puff". Then the evil wizard and his 3 minions come and he wants to make the princess marry him so the kingdom will be his and in the end the court jester was the big hero and was knighted... and then they spent 10 minutes soaking the crowd in the splash zone LOL and showing off their wicked diving abilities.

Check this guy out... you could see his muscles through his outfit lol I could COUNT his abs haha

as you can see... hannah was REALLY into it

Meeting the actors after the show

We stopped and watched this little quartet. they were fun

    waiting in line... AGAIN

    fishing

Next were the bumper cars. We weren't sure if hannah was going to enjoy this or not lol I said I would try to stay to the outer edges to minimize bumping if she didn't like it. yeah RIGHT... the more bumping the better lol

Adorable pics!! Prepping for disney I see! Have you guys taken her to Hershey yet? I'm sure she'd love it. I went in July with a big group and it was alot of fun. They have alot of big coasters, but they also have many things geared towards children to, not to mention the build-in zoo and waterpark

Wow Dutch Wonderland, I remember that place! (Although I haven't been there in 25-30 years LOL)

I do remember having fun there when I was a kid- wasn't too far away from us either when we lived in Nazareth...

Looks like you all had fun!!!

Thanks everyone. it was a great day and I think we are all still smiling from it. Hannah's Minnie ear muscles were a hit with everyone lol. and they are going to work out very nicely at disney. They seem comfortable for her and I think it even gives her a little extra courage lol. She did some rides yesterday that really surprised us both. Brian was surprised about the bumper cars being such a hit (no pun intended haha) and I was really shocked that she liked the Log Flume ride but she loved both and wanted to do them again lol.

it was a good dry run for Disney lol. and i think my plan is going to work out just fine. I plan for us to get to the parks when they open (that depends though on how hannah is feeling in the mornings) and then take break at 1 go back to the room and get hannah to take a nap, go for a swim, have dinner and then go back to the parks in the evening. So the longest we would be in the parks without a break would be 4 hours. Yesterday we were there for about 5 hours and she was SO good but you could tell around 5 that she was done. So yeah 4 hours at Disney and then a nap should work out great.

she really was so good though. she stood and waited in the lines like everyone else and didn't fuss or anything. A couple times throughout the day we had to remind her that whining was not acceptable and she needed to put on her happy face or it was time to go home. LOL when I say that she gets this really crazy smile on her face and says "Look I'm doing it" lol by then we are both laughing at her crazy face. but no meltdowns. I Thank God everyday that she's such an easy going kid lol. There were so many kids and parents yesterday who were at the end of their ropes and screaming at each other. I know she's still young and we have plenty of time for those "end of our rope" moments but for now I'm cherishing how easy going she is.

You know we actually haven't tried Hershey park with her yet but I want to. We just never think of it even though it's so close lol.

Aww---love the pictures and it's so obvious that not only Hannah had a ball but a couple of grownups did also. Such great memories to look back on. I'm sure Hannah will love Disneyworld, this was such a good idea giving her a bit of a practice, everything will be more familiar to her.
    Love the "ear muscles"

lol she's a seasoned Disney goer LOL but when they are so young They are so different from one year to the next so I think it was a good idea to test out our little tricks and such that we have planned to make our disney trip run smoothly as possible. but this will be her 3rd Disney trip LOL

Grown ups? I see no grownups in the photos

By the way, congratulations on your parenting style, love the way you handle things and keep everything upbeat. Hannah is a lucky little girl---did I say little - at the rate she's growing ?

Hannah's sunglasses - I WANT! What a fashionable young lady she is!

Looks like you all had a great time. You guys across the pond are certainly great at creating theme parks; your photos made me want to go there, and grab a bit of that sunshine!

yeah she's not such a little girl anymore. getting so big and more grown up everyday. Hubby's uncle couldn't believe it the one day we were visiting and she took a sip of her drink and goes "AHHHH so refreshing" and he just laughed and said "Did she just say refreshing?" LOL she comes out with some funny unexpected things sometimes lol

She is my little fashion Diva. I don't even bother trying to pick her outfits out for her anymore. I just let her have at it and put her own outfits together. She knows what she likes lol and she won't wear anything other than dresses lol
