    Thursday #405 -- Happy Birthday, Mickey Mouse!

    November 18, 1928:
    The Walt Disney Company gives Mickey's exact birth date as 18 November 1928. That was the release date of Steamboat Willie... According to legend, Disney planned to name the mouse "Mortimer" until his wife suggested the name of Mickey... (source: www.infoplease.com)
    So - Happy 82nd Birthday, Mickey! I wish I could be in Florida or SoCal to celebrate it with you, but that's not an option. So I'll open up Thursdays instead.

    I'm making myself one of these ... would anyone else like one?
    Mickey Mouse Cocktail - Serves 1

    Highball glass
    Straw
    Long-handled spoon

    Ingredients:
    1 scoop vanilla ice cream
    cola to fill
    whipped cream
    cherries

    Instructions:
    Put ice cream on the bottom of the glass and top up with cola. On the top - whipped cream and two cherries. Your drink will look like a Mickey Mouse!

    Could I have a hot chocolate please. It's freeeeeezzzzzzzing here!!! Winter showed up on Tuesday and it's still snowing and verrrrrry cold.
