The Reason I have 2 "Falls!"

Did you ever wonder why Autumn is also called, "Fall?"

I have 2 different types of Maple Tree in my yard.

In the front, I have this lovely Sugar Maple:

As you can see, most of the leaves have dropped. (Taken on Tuesday; they are all down now, due to the downpours of rain we had Wed and Thurs.)

I have a Sugar Maple in the back yard as well. I also have a Swamp Maple. Have a look:

Another view of the Swamp Maple:

Yes, in the Spring the seed whirly gigs drop 4 to 6 weeks apart as well. Sigh.

I feel your pain Sandie. I have four maples on my property and three have been 'naked' for a while. However, the biggest one, inside my fence, is still green, at least most of it.

Same here where I live. I have about 10 large deciduous trees, Japanese Maples and Liquid Ambers. For a two month period my backyard and frontyard are thick with leaves.
I don't even bother now, I just wait till it's all over, and then go rake them up.

I love your videos - I love listening to you talk - the way you pronounce summah. Brings back memories from way back - when I grew up in Warwick.

I LOVE your accent. Yaaad. LOL! I miss my summers Cape Cawd. My best friend went to SRU and got endless grief for her combined Nuw Yok and RI accent.

Oh, I still pahk the cah in the Hahvahd Yahd in the summah There are words that give me away no matter how long I've been gone.

My husband can tell when I talk to my brother on the phone - it comes back thick and fast.

Tee-hee-hee. We can never get rid of all of it, can we? I only have one word that people can catch me on, and they will say - "you aren't originally from DE, are you"? It's lobster - pronounced "lobstah"

My brother that passed away, NEVER lost any of his accent. He lived his last 30+ years in FL, but if you talked to him on the phone, you would swear that you were talking to one of the Kennedy brothers!

I do NOT have an accent! Just don't ask anyone on my street, as they are all Rhode Islanders, born and raised, he hee. I still sound like I am from Bahstahn!
