Our Honeymoon in Hawaii pics <part 1>

I haven't finished going through all the pics yet, not sure when I will, but I figured I may as well share these since we went months ago, I still have a ton more to go through too. We went to Kaua'i, its the only island we went to, couldn't afford to go island hopping, barely got to that one ha ha. We loved it there - its beautiful, peaceful, and the people were great. I'd love to go back. Anyway, here's the first round of pics...warning, there's a lot.

Dog pawprints in the sand. We saw quite a few dogs at the beaches





Since there's not really any roads to take you into the interior of the island, we took a helicopter ride to see as much as we could. It was really neat, it made both of us almost puke though. These next few were taken in the helicopter.

Here's our first rental car. Somehow we managed to kill it within a few days, we were stranded in the dark, some nice people helped us out though.

We sat here for a long time and watched the water splash into this hole, it created some pretty waterfalls.







We took a boat tour and saw these spinner dolphins. We also went snorkeling I took some pics with a waterproof camera but I haven't got them developed yet.

Yeah, I'm a white girl with a farmers tan ha ha. Managed to burn myself bad later though with some sunscreen that didn't work. I still have a swimming suit line.

Then we went to Waimea canyon, I was surprised to see parts of Hawaii look so desert like.

One of the roosters that inhabits the island, they are all over, I kept thinking how crazy my dogs would go if they were there.

We went to one of the higher lookouts in the canyon but couldn't really see it because the fog had moved in...however I thought the misty look was pretty cool too.

We went to a beach at sunset and Corby had way too much fun playing in the waves on a boogie board. It was too cold outside for me to get get in so I just took pics of the sunset.

Another day, about to venture onto a canoe trip up a river to see a waterfall. Corby with a fresh coconut looking very much like a tourist. Though I like coconuts, I wasn't a fan of fresh coconut milk.



Very pretty waterfall, we went swimming underneath it.



Another waterfall that you could drive to.



That's all until I finish going through the rest of them.

I love Kaua'i! It is so beautiful! We went there on vacation back in 2004. The helicopter ride is a must. The best way to see the island.
Your pictures are amazing......as usual. I especially like the ones of the sunset.

I didn't realize you had gone to Hawaii! How awesome. We are going for the first time, for our 10th anniversary in December and I can't wait! We thought about island hoping but the cost and limited about of time we have, it didn't make sense so, we are going to Oahu.

I can't see the pics from work, but I am sure there are beuatiful and will have to come see them when I get home tonight!

Amy, you should seriously contact Hawai'i's travel bureau, because those shots are postcard worthy. Absolutely stunning!!

My parents are huge fans of the islands. I think Maui and Kaua'i are their favorites.

I hope someday to visit myself. Looks like you both had a wonderful time. Can't wait for more photos!!!
