Testing for Cushing's AGAIN! (Update Post 6)

Even though Logan acts fine, no longer drinks 17 bowls of water a day since early summer, the vet didn't like the results of her urine test during her yearly routine check up. On Monday, she had a low dose dexamethasone test. We had to bring her back to the vet every 4 hours (3x) for blood work. I couldn't bear leaving her there all day in a kennel. She was an angel, the poor thing. Other than diluted urine with high levels of protein, she isn't exhibiting any other symptoms.

I know some of our PT pets are worse off, but if you'd keep Mz Logan in your prayers and hearts, I'd appreciate it.

Is that a symptom of Cushings? Could it be a symptom of anything else? Like, just that her kibble is too high in protein? Oh I hope so!

Prayers for Mz. Logan, from RI!

Yippee! Mz Log-A-Beans is in tip top shape. Every blood panel is normal, liver enzymes, normal. It's making the vets scratch their heads. There is a liver test they could do but as long as everything seems OK, I'm not rushing into anymore uncomfortable testing.

Sandie, I've told the vets what food and treats I give her. It could be that her first urine test each time (12 hours of no peeing-man! is that a challenge) is high in protein because her bladder was full and she drank water at night after gnawing on her natural rawhide bone. Who knows?

She does, however, have another inflammed tear duct, this time in her right eye, which will have to be removed. Doesn't bother her, but if gets worse, can irritate her cornea.

Logan and I thank everyone for their prayers! They worked!
