I'm pretty sure Smokey just ate a red crayon...

    Should I be panicking?

Crayons are supposed to be non-toxic, I think kids eat them all the time!
You might want to call your vet to be safe otherwise you may just have to wait for it to pass through his system. At least he picked a nice bright color that will be easy to see!

I bet Smokey will be fine.

This reminds me a funny story.

When I was in middle grade, I bought my little brother a box of Non-Toxic Crayons (that's what the box said). Rami was in the 1st grade, I think. He asked what Non-Toxic meant and I told him that meant if he ate them they wouldn't poison him. So, next week at school a friend of his runs up to me panicing telling me that Rami was "bleeding" from the mouth. I rush to my borther and find him with a mouthful of red crayon shavings!! His response was "You said they weren't poisonous!"

    Your Smokey should be OK!

    Modern crayons ARE non-toxic...

Check the label on a surviving crayon,
or the box they came in.
There should be some information on ingestion and what, if anything, to do.

    Nice color - RED!

If you really want Smokey to unload it ~
Common household 3% Hydrogen Peroxide -
about a Tablespoon for a small Pup - should begin the unloading process -
    in a very few minutes.
Stand back - it won't be pretty!

That said, by law the EPA must set a limit on how much asbestos we can be exposed to in drinking water. That amount, according to Lamb, "is about equal to what a child would get from consuming 3,500 asbestos-containing crayons a year." If your kid is eating that many crayons, asbestos is the least of your worries.

    LMAO

Red seems to be a popular color with dogs. I found some sort of red cloth-like unidentified object during some unintentional "treasure hunting" a couple of days ago. I don't know what it was, but with Nebo...could be anything.

I bet Smokey will be fine, but if you are worried, it's best to call the vet and and at least talk to them.
