Koko has had hip Dysplasia since she was about 7 months. Because of the stress of the Dysplasia she ended up with both CCL's being torn. She had to have surgery on both CCl's at about 1 year. The Vets at Auburn recommend that we not operate on her hips but treat it with supplements of Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM. i give her buffered Aspirin or Remidial on those days when she shows symptoms of being in pain. These days always coincide with a weather change from a high to low pressure. The Vet says that as she ages the hips would become more arthritic, but even with surgery, age would bring on arthritis. The best treatment is moderate walking exercise every day.

I wonder if Sunny is going to end up with hip problems. She seems to "hop" up the stairs like a bunny instead of alternating leg movements. It's good to see groups like this raising money for the treatment of this disease.
