    Goodbye Manute Bol...

    RIP dude.....

He was a great, funny character.
From the dirt of Sudan...to the hardwood of the NBA.

Manute was 7 foot 7 and played with Mugsy Bogues....one of the shortest players in the NBA at the time.

I had not heard this news, so Googled and found this:
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5305868

He died from kidney disease, and a painful skin condition that may have been caused by kidney medication he took when in Africa. He was from Sudan, and was helping humanitarian efforts there, and building a school as well.

Rest in peace, sir, you were a giant both on the court and in heart. May your legacy help thousands to better lives.

Back in the day,he was my brother's favorite basketball player. I still remember my brother going to one of the malls to meet him. I'm so sorry to hear that he's passed on. RIP Manute Bol.

I read the news today. So sad. He was working so hard to make life better
for the people of his homeland. He was only 47 yrs old.

A humanitarian first, a basketball player second. He sounded like a beautiful man. It's very sad indeed.

He was another fine basketball player and gentleman from Africa who tried to make things better. RIP, Mr. Bol.
