    Mack - Major Breakthrough

Mack is my shy kitty, afraid of his own shadow sometimes. He usually hangs out on my bed during the day but for a long time he wouldn't stay on the bed if I walked into the room to pet him. Then gradually he would let me come in and pet him on the bed. However, if I was on my bed he would never jump up.

Two days ago he actually jumped up onto my bed before I got up that morning. I called him and he walked over and laid down beside me! I was so happy. He laid there and let me pet and pet him.

Next morning when I woke up I saw him over by the doorway. None of the other cats were in the room so I called him over and he jumped up onto the bed again just talking away, meow, meow...

Today, same thing! He came up after Mama cat got down though. He loves a belly scratch and actually I haven't found a place on him yet that he doesn't like scratched. He just rolled around and was so funny.

So, I am just so happy he is coming out of his shell. He has been a bit depressed I think for over a year now since I had to put Moose down. Moose was his buddy.

This is wonderful news. I can relate because it took Ziggy about 3 years to finally come out of her shell and to really be a part of my cat family. Now she loves her head scritches every day and will even let me sometimes give her belly rubs.

Yep, it's a good feeling alright. When my Yodie jumped up on my lap for the first time ever and let me pet her for at least half an hour, I just had to post it. She's never done it since but it took her 6 years to do it, so it just shows us that felines do things on their own time and not ours.
    Blessings,
    Mary

I stayed in bed longer this morning since it was Saturday and no work. I called Mack up and Buddy was there too. Bud gave him a couple licks. I love it when they are lovey to each other.
