Tonsil Stones/Crypts

Not trying to be disgusting, just trying to find tried and true remedy for them...
Woke up this morning at 4:30 having a cough fit and out pops one...Talk about gross!! Never had one before. I have a terrible gag reflex so that may limit my remedy options...Please help if you know of something that helps.

They're harmless. You can gargle with salt water, but they're just a phenomenon, not a symptom or an illness. Try to think of them as evidence that your "guard posts" (tonsils) are well-staffed with white cells and doing their job of stopping germs!
