At the moment I have them all laying in order on a table on trestles in my office...hee hee.
I intend to frame them once I am satisfied that I am through spending money on them....some of them are SO expensive.

Good thing is tho, that I have got to know a lot of people who sell such stuff, and can sort out the ones who sell authentic items as against those who don't. Yeah, I've been caught a couple of times, but mostly I've been lucky.

I deal a bit with a guy in Toronto, and have got to know him very well. He does a lot of diving in the Great Lakes, and finds stuff which is really interesting. I got a 43rd Foot button from him not long ago that he found on a dive, made of pewter, cost me a cool $50. But I guess that's what one has to pay for stuff that old. He dated it to 1751, I guess he has the info to know when and how that ship went down.
But surprise surprise.....when I received the button, he also included one of the ships captains buttons that he'd found at the same spot. I think he felt kinda bad that I spent so much on the 43rd button, and wanted to keep me as a buyer.

Sorry Blue, but I agree with Wom. Run along now.

Glad you won the bidding and you got what you want. I love the challenge of the bidding on e-bay. The secret is to wait till the last couple of minutes of the bidding.

I usually snipe the items in the last 5 seconds, that way I get them.

I see nothing wrong with collecting something you have passion for. If you learn something about history and geography in the process even better!
    We need more pics though

    Thats what I reckon.
I was warned in the beginning tho, that collecting militaria can get quite addictive (and expensive)....I found that out quick smart....LOLOLOL.
But collecting stuff has always been a bit of a passion of mine. Since the 1960's my main passion was collecting fossils, but since living in the New England area of NSW (which is is gigantic granite/basalt volcanic intrusion), I have to travel very far before I can find anything at all.
I do take a look at the fossils on eBay from time to time, but have never bought one, as I'd rather dig them myself, the thrill of revealing them to the sunlight after millions of years being buried is a real blast.
I'll post some pics of the militaria I've won, and you can take a look at it.
