    URGENT Canadian/nearby US Cat Lovers

I received an urgent email today from a woman whose medical problems four years ago almost cost her her life. She was fortunately able to survive this long, and four of her six cats have since passed away of old age. Today, however, she received bad news, medically, and needs to find homes very soon for her remaining two kitties.

Sandra M. is in Toronto, Ontario. Casper and Domino are a mother and daughter pair, and are 13 and 12 years old. They are up-to-date on all their medical care, and are beautiful, loving cats.

I asked out any medical problems, and she replied:
    *******
The mom is having dental work (two extractions) and is petrified to go to clinic vet. She just came back today from getting a heart ultrasound to make sure she could have sedation for the dental to take place and she was trying to bite the front of the carrier. I was afraid she'd break a tooth. I've had a mobile vet give their shots and do check ups (shots once every three years, the protex three vaccine for panleukopenia, calicci virus and rhinotracheitis, not feline leukemia or rabies since they are indoor cats). The person would have to be patient with Casper at first, the mom but she is a lap cat and so affectionate once she trusts you. The daughter, Domino has no special needs other than to be loved.

    *****

Please, these two ladies just need a place to live out their remaining years where they can be loved. She doesn't want them to have to be put to sleep when her medical problems become severe and take her away. She does have some funds set aside for any vet care they may need.

    I have attached their pictures.

Please PM or email me if you, or anyone you know, can give these beauties a home.

This sounds exactly like a situation that happened about a year ago, right down to the name.

GILL was in touch with the person. I'll PM him this link.

Due to severe illness I am having to find a new home or homes for my wonderful cats."

I need to find loving homes for my cats!

I am ill and will soon be incapacitated. I'm looking for someone to adopt my cats, together or individually. I have had the mother (now aged 11) and her two daughters (both aged 10) since they were young. I now have to tragically part with them but am looking for good, solid, loving homes. They are all affectionate, good natured, clean, healthy, have their current shots and are spayed of course. If you are interested at all and are willing and able to help, please contact me for more information.

I am offering, through a trust fund, to pay for their food, litter and vet bills for the rest of their lives so no one would be out of pocket at all for the care of these wonderful pets.

I can be reached by email at: [email protected] (lotsacats4 @ hotmail.com).

Karen - a year ago, this woman was supposed to be near death. A woman from Germany on Care2 had seen the same email and pics the previous spring.

Maybe she did get a lease on life. GILL and his wife were ready to drive up and get the kitties - 4 at the time.

I just hope it won't be another "yes-no" stunt like it was last time.

I am sure GILL can provide more balanced perspective on this. I wound up being bashed and a pariah on Care2 when I tried to verify this last year.

If GILL wants to contact me, I can give him her email, or I can email her myself. She and I have exchanged several emails today, and that email address you listed is NOT the one I have for her.

    I pm'd GILL about 20 minutes ago.

I apologize, Karen...I just hope it isn't the same thing all over again. I just alarm bells go off when I read it, that's all. Sandra M, near Toronto, white green eyed kitties...

    Prayers that all works out.

Gill and I have emailed back and forth, he's unable to take them now - at 15, the house is full.

Anyone closer to or in Ontario?

Thanks for notifying me about this..

I can't take in anymore animals.. I'm full... What I can offer is to assist in transportation (possibly 1 over night stay), but I would need assistance in gas, unless it was close. Anything more then 100km in total I just can't afford. I just moved to Markham & spent every penny I had getting here & I have to save up $ for Digi's tests & Cash's shots, & possible vet care if his sores don't clear up (already spoke to my vet, she doesn't want to see him yet). The 90gal tank broke in the move so I had to repair that 2 weeks ago.

I'm beyond exhausted in animal care, esp after Sharkey dying twice (brought him back both times & he seems to be 90% himself)... I have to feed Cash all day long in tiny amounts so he stops gorging & puking, & I have to clean his facial sores often (I didn't know plastic bowls were bad for cats.. Cash is my first)...

I have the 2 birds Bobbie & Sweety, a dog Digi, a cat Cash, 2 Turtles Realm & Axle, 100+ fish Sharkey, & the spider Lilly.

I can't handle more pets in need mentally/financially right now.

Sorry that's the best I can offer

Sweetie, thank you, we certainly understand. Ask around in case anyone you knows could take them, okay?

Thank you Candace for directing me to this post. Unfortunately there is no one that I know of in Toronto. I have two brothers in Mississauga, but one is at his limit with cats & dogs and the other one's wife is allergic to cats.
If I didn't have a full house myself and Poppy spraying around the house when I bring in rescues, believe me when I say that I would take these precious girls in without a thought.

All I can do is pray that they find another cat loving home.

Since I now have six cats in my two-room apartment, I cannot take these two ladies in.

However, if there is someone (or any of you know someone) who would give them a home in the Windsor-southwestern Ontario.. metro Detroit-southeast-mid-Michigan.. or Toledo-northwest Ohio areas, I would be glad to provide at least part (or if necessary, all) of their transportation to their new home.

Please, ask around, any of you in these areas or knowing possible adopters in any of these areas! (Or anywhere; we have to find these ladies a home!)

I would also be glad to contribute to expenses if needed and do whatever else I can to help.

Could you update me on the status of this?

    Hi,

I was contacted by Sandra about her cats, and am trying to find out what the status is of offers to help for these cats.

I would appreciate any information anyone has on these cats, the situations, etc.

    Thanks,
    Nancy
