    My dog is extremely effusive

Hi, my dog Lucrecia is a stray dog. She's very smart and she learns very fast. The only thing she hasn't been able to learn is her excitement whenever we have visits come over. Her excitement is so big that she cries, yells, jumps, runs. It's like she can't control herself. I've tried everything: I've held her in her leash until she calms down, I've locked her up in my room (which I hate doing) until she calms down, I've given her treats when she stays down. But she keeps doing it, and some people hate that. Thank you.

How old is your dog & what breed/mix is she? It sounds like she isn't
given a lot of exercise. Is she taken out for walks or given another
    other training exercise?

I agree with the adding exercise, especially a long walk or a run before company arrives (if you know they are coming).

Also, along with the treats, add a water squirt bottle to your armory. When she is jumping up, squirt her in the face. It sure does get their attention! From there, give a command and the moment she responds, treat.

I've never had luck putting them in a back room either. They are social creatures and want to be with everyone. Just need some manners, lol.

    Good luck!
