    4th of July treat

    A friend of Thomas Jefferson's was a cryptologist in the early days of the US. He embedded coded text in a letter to the president, which has been unbroken until recently. The code revealed text very relevent to the time of year! http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1246...?mod=yhoofront

    This is fantastic. While I love stories like this (and loved Simon Singh's Code Book) I just wouldn't be patient enough. Thanks for sharing.
