    Wild Animal Safari pictures [19].

I recently bought a navigation device and had been dying to use it. I think I was born with itchy feet, as I am always wanting to go on trips. Mum was off work and my sister took a day off so we could go on a mini trip up to Strafford, MO to the Wild Animal Safari. We had first visited this place 15 or so years ago. I honestly don't remember that trip, as I was only around three.

I took 200+ pictures, but somehow managed to thin it out to these 19 to post. We had a great time. Mum opted to drive her car through the safari instead of riding the tram. Hehe, It scared my poor mum half to death! She was not too fond of the idea of large animals sticking their heads through her windows and slobbering over every inch of the car... inside and out. She kept mentioning how we just couldn't be the kids she gave birth to. My sister and I lack fear of animals bombarding us.

The neatest part about the experience was how close you were able to get to the animals. I did not use the zoom on my camera for any of these pictures except of the deer laying down by the water.

After seeing these pictures again I just realized that the majority of them are just of exotic cattle. Sorry if they are a bore!

Great pictures and no animal is a bore, except a pig.

I went to a place called Exotic Animal Paradise near there several years ago. I wonder if it's the same place?

Great pics! I just took a trip to our Safari West this past April. Same kind of set-up, although they won't let you drive your own car - don't think I'd want to, the terrain is SO rugged. You were lucky to get to close to those Watusi cattle and the buffalo. The Zebras were funny on our tour too and kept blocking the road. The tour guide said they can be VERY mean. The giraffes were SO friendly and cute. Looks like you had a good time.

I had heard that before, too... for that reason I was a bit hesitant when they first approached us. The Ostriches were the ones that intimidated me the most, though! The one I fed wasn't always quite on target every time when pecking the food out of my hand. I'm lucky I walked away with all my fingers.
