    Midas Cichlid *update with pics

Now I just need to get pictures. I got a female I think, assuming at 6" a male would have a head bump starting. I drove 75 miles to get her. My family would call me crazy driving 75 miles for a fish and then paying $25 for it as well. I've got an ad on craigslist looking for an adult male. Unfortunatly the area petsmart sells the wrong species as midas cichlids or I'd just get them there. I can order some from a local aquarium shop but that could cost over $80 for one fish. Not an easy find but I'm so happy to get one.

    Awesome, Congratulations!
Midas' are some of my favorite fish. They seem like they would be fun to have around.

I am not going (or rather, not planning) to buy any more fish until out of college, but when I am ready a Midas is at the top of my list. :-)

I would love to see pictures!

Here are some pictures. Its 45 tank I'm using for a coffee table. I know it'll need a bigger tank which I will get in a month or two and then this will be either a schooling tetra tank or a small African cichlid tank. Some pictures are before I had the tank filled completely or decorated. I cycled it using a filter from another of my tanks so I didn't need to set it up until the day before I got the fish.

And here's some pics of the swords and platies I got from the same store. Three pineapple swords, three pineapple-wags, and three random platies.

CUTE! I love fish!!! I just rescued a cichild (not sure what kind) and a pleco. Then I have my two bettas. I'm setting up the new tank today for the pleco and cichlid. The cichlid (I think that's what it is) is about 6 inches and in a ten gallon tank!!! If you could help me let me know!

Yep! I'll try to get it uploaded here in a few minutes. Trying to get photobucket to cooperate so that I can post betta pics.
