    Cars

Hey just curious what kind of car does everyone drive? or what kind do you want? My first car was my teal blue '95 mustang that I have now and it was like my dream car--what I had always wanted so I don't really want another kind I love the one I have..but what kinds do ya'll drive or what kinds do ya'll want??

My current car is an '07 Chevy colbalt. It's a dark gray four-door with a four cylinder automatic. I love it! There are two cars I'd like to have, both owned by my brother. (1). An original mint 1967 Shelby Mustang, dark blue with a white racing stripe, (2). An all original 1970 corvette convertible, burgundy with a black interior.

I never joined the other thread, so I'll post ours here. (Actual pics of our cars...)

I drive an 03 Nissan Xterra, Atomic Orange. (Off road in Garden of the Gods, Colorado)

J drives one of the following three...

07 Audi S4 (At Garden of the gods)

    01 Isuzu Rodeo

    08 Honda CBR600rr

When she doesn't take the Audi to work, I drive it! Its a wonderful car. So quick with the V8, and its a 6spd.. yum!

Since people are putting their previous cars, I'll add mine.
Parents gave me a 94 Nissan Altima [black]when I turned 16, and I drove that until it had 240k+ miles and sold it. Was still running great then. Was a really hardy car.. Thats for sure! Only had to do $300 of work every 6 months or so. Radiator, Starter, Spark plugs, and one rear brake froze up, but thats it. Bought an 05 Scion tC [black] from J after I sold the Altima. She had put lots of money into it and we showed it a couple times. Really learned to drive a stick once I bought it. =)

Then we talked about moving to CO, so I prepared myself by trading in the tC for the Xterra. But we're still in MO so obviously that was silly...

Cars J's owned... Ford Escort GT [purple], 90 Honda Prelude Si [black], 05 Scion tC [black], 06 Mini Cooper S [pepper white/black], 01 Isuzu Rodeo [black], 02 Lexus IS 300 [blue], 05 BMW M3 [white], and now 07 Audi s4 [black]. She's had an 07 Kawasaki Ninja 250r and now the 08 Honda Cbr600rr as well.. and a 49cc scooter that she won at work... Always something new to keep her attention.

Right now, I have a silver Mazda 6. My son has a silver VW Jetta.

I also have a Ford F150 truck that I inherited when my dad passed away. I've never owned a truck before, and the last American vehicle I had was twenty years ago ... so the big blue truck is certainly a novelty.

I also have the fun little silly car, the 1974 VW Super Beetle. It hibernates in the garage, and comes out for a few "slug bug" trips around town every summer.

I used to have a VW New Beetle, and before that a Mazda Miata. My son used to have a Mitsubishi Eclipse.

I'd like to have a Mini Cooper, actually, but I'm trying to curb what my friend calls my "Mad Car Disease".

Right now I drive a tan Dodge Intrepid and hubby drives a white Chevy Imapa. But we're in the process of buying a Pontiac Montana (yep, I'm becoming a mini-van momma!). Looks like this:

But it's a metallic bluish/gray color. We should have it within the next week. I'm excited about it!

I laughed out loud at that sentence! You sound like J!! She's had 8 cars and 2 motorcycles and she's only been driving 9 years.. She's had a Cooper S, an 06 pepper white w/ black details. It was FUN but the payment was too much for her at the time... Was great to drive in the mountains of CO!

I'll only talk about the cars I've bought myself, not the ones my parents got for me as a teenager.

I had a green '96 Chevy Cavalier. I loved that car, but my dream car has always been a VW Jetta. So after 8 years having my Cavalier it finally started pooping out on me. I went and saw about getting my Jetta. In 2005 I got my silver '04 Jetta. I it and so does my niece.
Although the past few months my poor little car has been sick and I'm slowly bringing it back to good health (as my checkbook can afford it). So its sad that this car is not lasting as long as my Chevy, but I think it's because I drive so much now.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Yeah, that's why I didn't get one, a little steep.

When I got the Mazda I traded in two vans and three cars.

And I didn't even list all the boring cars I've had as run-arounds over the years. It's frightfully sad all the money I've spent on cars. I'm trying to curb my addiction.

My first car was a 1990 Ford Escort Pony - their very base model. It didn't even have a radio in it! Ellie was her name, and she was a great little car.

I had her until 1995, when I got my dream car - a 1995 Mercury Cougar xr7. Champagne exterior (brown to some folks, lol) with a v8 that was upgraded from a v6 at no extra cost. Jasmine, aka Jazz. I loved that car. I still miss her. I traded her in after I moved to AZ because she was sort of "tied" to the ex-hubby...

2000 Dodge Intrepid is the car we traded Jazz in for. Stupidest thing I ever did. Hated this car - did not name it, it was so bad. Had it 3 1/2 years and it didn't even have 30k on it. It kept slipping into 2nd gear going down the freeway... the transmission sensors were bad, got replaced twice and it didn't stop the problem. We traded it in and got...

2004 Ford Mustang 40th anniv. edition. Charcoal grey inside/out. Love this one. Dixie's been good. Hubby keeps her in the garage... our 2 car garage only has room for 1, with all the crap on the other half. So, MY car gets to sit out in the sun/wind/rain/etc. all year....

2006 Chevy Impala. Also Brown - almost like my cougar was. This one is named Daisy. Nice roomy full size car... since we drive 150 miles a day, comfort is important to me.

I will miss you forever, my sweet Scooter Bug. You were my best friend. 9/21/1995 - 1/23/2010
Goodbye, Oreo. Gone too soon. 4/2003 - 9/12/2011.
Farewell & Godspeed, sweet Jadie Francine. You took a piece of my heart with you. 11/2002 - 8/8/2016
Charlie kitty, aka: Mr. Meowy. Our home is far too silent now. 2003-6/14/2018

LOL 2 vans AND 3 cars?! Wow... That's funny.

I totally understand your addiction and I'd like to tell you that you're not alone!

I drive a 2007 Toyota Yaris, her name is Phyllis.

I love her, it was my very first new car and the first car I ever bought for myself. Before that I had a 98 Chevy S-10 which I hated, it was in the shop all the time! I don't really have a dream car, I'm not much of a car person. I just want something that is dependable, inexpensive and uses little gas. Maybe if they got better gas mileage I would get something bigger like a Toyota Tacoma or a Rav 4. However for now I am happy with Phyllis.
    I've been Defrosted!

Thanks for the great signature Kay!

Daily driver is a '95 Ford Aspire. I have had this car for 10 years and I love it to bits. Unfortunately I am not very mechanical and I am worried it is dying a slow death. My Bf hates this car with a passion so it's like pulling teeth to get him to fix anything. It will be a sad, sad day indeed when my little doodlebug just won't go any more.

since my bf said the Aspire will probably suddenly die some sad day and I couldn't afford a new Focus hatchback at the time, I bought this '07 Chevy Cobalt coupe as a backup car/weekend runner. It's a pretty nice car, but I'm kicking myself for not getting another hatchback, since the Cobalt hasn't really grown on me in the year and a half I've had it. At least it looks cool. Anyone else seen a car with purple racing stripes? I haven't, that's why I went with that color.

In a perfect world, I'd own a 4-door hatchback and a Ford Ranger. I have cheap and practical dreams, LOL.
