We have a 10-week-old Chi-Poo. She is in excellent health but has the brown discharge from the eyes that seems to be common with that mix. Does anyone know what causes is it, and if therre's a remedy?

Has the vet seen the discharge? Sometimes in smaller poodles (especially the toys) there can be a discharge but it is clear, like ordinary tears. It is particularly noticeable on dogs with white and/or light fur. I would have her checked just to make sure it is simple tearing and not an infection. Keeping the face shaved will help so that it doesn't collect in the fur and there are some products on the market that can help with the discoloration on the fur if there is some. I have never had a poodle with this problem so I haven't used anything first hand and don't know how safe they are though.
I heard that feeding a dog one Tums a day helps. I'm not sure why.
