    Bald spots - update febr.12th

I discovered bald spots behind both Snoopy's ears. Both are almost 1 sqare cm! It looks just like as if the fur was pulled out. I didn't see her fighting with her sisters, the skin does not look reddish, and she never goes outside.
Should I go to the vet with her? What could be the cause of the bald spots?

In your place, I would take her to the vet, just as I would take one of mine for the same "problem". The reason being that we have both had ringworm in our homes and that blasted fungus never truly dies. As you know, one of ringworm's favorite places is around the ears. I hope it isn't and Snoopy's just has a bit of temporary baldness from winter-time boredom over-scratching.

Yes Lut this would be from Ear Scratching.. Check Snoopy's Ears for dirt or mites.. I will use a small flashlight to look in my babies ears.. Then I have Cat Medicated Ear Qtips I use.. It cleans out the dirt & has aleo for soothing of the ear.. You can get the Cat Qtips at Walmart or a Pet Store.. Also to put on the babies outside of ear where hair is gone = use Cat Hydro Spray or vasilene..

I will go to the vet with her. It doesn't look like ringworm; her ears look clean too. Wonder what's wrong

My Creamsicle lost hair by her ears, then she started losing all over, especially on the top of her head and near her tail. Poor little girl scratched til I thought she'd go crazy and it turned out to be allergies. She's on meds for it now and even so, occasionally she has to get a depo shot. Is Snoopy scratching? Do you see or feel any little bumps? I hope whatever is going on w/Snoopy gets cleared up quickly.
    Blessings,
    Mary

Lut, I'm sorry to hear this. Hopefully it's not ringworm again. My Storm is allergic to fish and this also happened to him in the past so maybe it's food allergies. I'd have her checked out. Please keep us updated.

    been to the vet today!
Snoopy was such a good girl No hissing, no squirming, no attacking!!
The vet didn't see a direct cause for the bald spots. It isn' a allergic reaction or infection. Her ears are clean too. To be sure that there is no skin issue, he took a few samples and sent it off to the lab. I will know the results by the end of next week. He thinks it only a temporary thing; but better be sure than sick
