    Nebo gave me a scare!!

I have been to the vet so many times with Nebo I am just paranoid. Well today I was just holding im and looking at his teeth (he's getting new ones in right now) and I felt something weird on his leg. I felt it, and he had a growth! It was pretty big (in my opinion)--slightly smaller then a dime, dark pink, round, and very hard. I'm clueless as to how I couldn't have noticed this earlier. Me being the worrier that I am, went into thinking about all the things it *could* be...like cancer/tumor, etc. Of course he's only 4 months old! So I convinced my vet to let me take him in even though he was closed (luckily he's a very nice guy, has the vet office right at his house...). The vet said it was just a wart, caused by a virus. I hope that is right. I think I'm still going to be paranoid about it until it goes away! Has anybody else had something like this on their dogs?

You are a good mommy to Nebo.
I am glad the lump turned out to be nothing serious.

I would definetly trust your vet. My pomeranian had the same thing and it was gone in a week. I hope thats what it turns out to be!

Yikes, I can definitely empathize with this paranoid business!!! But I would trust the vet, and just wait & watch for a few days (yea easier said than done sometimes!). If it hasn't disappeared in a couple of weeks then you can always go back!!!! Did the vet prescribe any meds. or anything??

Thanks for your advice! I really hope that it will just go away. No, the vet didn't prescribe any medications, he really didn't look at it all that closely.

I HATE it when they do that!!! They just kind of look at you, like "what is YOUR problem...uh huh, uh huh...*glance a couple of times*...no, dear, it's no biggie...and that office visit will be $60...thank you" I've had that happen before & I definitely know what you are talking about!

Our Cincy has been full of little bumps! First, at 3 1/2 mos she had them in her mouth, which were warts, caused by a virus. Now she has ance on her "armpit" which we are not sure what is cuasing it, but she is on an antibiotic for it.

I would keep an eye on it and if it doesn't look better in a few days to a week, or if he gets worse, I would demand a better explaination. Ask for a biopsy on it, if you need to. That is what we did with the warts in Cincy 's mouth.

Yeah that's what it was like. "Oh all the fuss about that little thing? It's just a wart." He didn't even look at it at all. Don't get me wrong, I like the vet...he's a nice guy...didn't even charge me a thing....but I wish he would have really looked at it.

I think I'm going to have it removed when he gets neutered (thursday). I'm doing this at a different vet, as it is cheaper. I applied for a discount coupon, and it only works with certain vets. Of course they said it would be at least $50 just to have that removed..........that dog is going to be the death of my bank account!

I swear, Melissa has not had one health problem with Lady. And I'm constantly at the vets! Ugh, I think Nebo has been at the vets more this year then Reggie and Smokey have their entire lives!

I'm glad to hear Nebo is ok. I worry about everything too!!!!

I had a scare like that. I noticed a lump on Deisel's side and it freaked me out. The next morning I took him to the vet. It turned out to be just a lump from the rabies shot he had. It went away in a few days. My vet is very, very good. She said that is all it was, but better safe than sorry. She is a super vet and never looks at me like I am crazy for worrying about my pets.

I had changed vets as the 1st one i started taking Deisel too was horrible. When we first got Deisel, he had diarrea for about 4 days and I called. She told me that it sounded like he needed...now let me remember what that crazy vet said....something about his glands(I think) needed to be drained. Anyway I was told that it was a very painful experience for the dog to go through. I thankfully decided to get a 2nd opinion...Took him to the vet I take them both to now and she said it was just because he is stressed being in a new home and all. Not to worry and if it doesn't go away in a week to bring him back. That's all it was.

Whoa Amy, I just seen this. Glad it's nothing to be worried about. I do know what you mean, any little thing seems wrong with my dogs, and boom! we're at the vets!
