She was licking her foot around 11 this morning. When she finally let me look at it it was all bloody and infected looking. Its above her pads, close to what might be thought of as her heel. I called our regular vet. A vet I've been going to for more than 15 YEARS!!! They said they could get me in on MONDAY!!! Needless to say I didn't book that appointment. I was not happy. I called the kittens vet and they saw us this afternoon at 3:30. Sasha got her right rear foot shaved and cleaned. Not sure what the wound is but it's nasty. I was given soap to clean it with until it scabs, antibiotics and a cone. I am so glad they were able to see her today. I also discussed Sasha's pain meds with the lovely lady vet who has a thick english accent. She offered up other options aside from the metacam, which isn't doing much for Sasha any more. In all it was a good visit and we might well be changing vets for Sasha. Better yet, the kitten vet is way closer than Sasha's vet.
