Has anyone else read the book about Dewey, the library cat in Iowa? I bought it for myself for Christmas and it is an awesome story...but have the tissues handy!

I haven't read it yet (and I love library cat stories, lol).

I do have a video called "Puss in Books" which is stories about real cats that live in libraries around the country. It's adorable, and sad in some places, but what a great video!!! It made a ton of little kids at school beg my one principal for a cat, lol!

I would love to read it. I saw it for sale at the bookshop and it looked like a great book. I'm sure someday I'll get a hold of a copy and read it.

Is that the one with the orange cat on the cover? I've always wanted to read it but I refuse to spend extra $$ on a hardcover book, when I do they ALWAYS come out with soft covers after. Plus, I think hard ones are overpriced. It sounds like a cute book, I'll have to look for it next time and see if they came out with soft covered books first.

I'm hoping to find a copy at the used book store where I have credit. If not I'll probably hold out for the paperback. Can't wait to read it though.

I read it a few months ago - my copy is currently on loan, but I'd be willing to start a mailing chain! It's a great little book; there aren't that many about cats that get as much attention as Dewey has, but it's well deserved! I got it from overstock.com - I'm not sure whether paperback is coming out anytime soon.

I got my copy from the library. It's a great story. I balled at the end. Dewey seemed like such a sweet kitty.

Did you hear the librarian who wrote the book has a new kitty? Her name is Page.

I have not read the book yet, I plan to, but in searching for the book I found this article in USA Today about a kitten the author found last month in a dire situation who will now be Dewey's "replacement"
