Looking to adopt a puppy to add to our family

We are living in Vicenza, Italy and looking to adopt a puppy from an animal shelter or (pound) around here. If anyone knows of where to go or have any advice or information i would greatly appreciate it.

Merry Christmas too. My family originated from around here so getting a chance to live here is an amazing experiance for me. I am loving and cherishing everyday of it. We have only had 2 snows so far and thboth melted within 24hours.

Just a quick update. We finally got over to look at the puppies today. The place was closed by the time we got there at 3 pm!!!!! They said they would be open tomorrow from 10am-12. A whole 2 hours!!! Needless to say my hubby wont be off work intime to go tomorrow so now we have to wait until after the new year. So much for getting a puppy for Christmas/ My son's 3rd birthday. But I am not giving up hope. We will find the perfect furry baby to add to our family. We will just have to wait a few weeks.

Well it's great that you found the place. I guess they are closed for the holidays. Maybe they have limited funds to keep the place staffed for regular hours. Good luck on finding the perfect pet. I'm sure you will though!

Hey, if you can, find a stuffed pup and give that to your son for Christmas/his birthday, with the promise of a "real" dog to come! My friend Lucio always told me Italy basically closes down for two weeks at Christmas time, so I'm surprised they are opening at all!
