It was a flamingo waving. I guess that site has blocks on using direct links. You can go to the site and download a clip art, and maybe resize for your avatar?

I see it now, was it there before? I did not see if before, if it was. Once I get home, I will look into resizing the picture.

Your avatar looks JUST like my Jasper who passed away in '96. He was my first cockatiel, and now we have a yellow one, Rilla, who was given to us.

I have a slow pokey dialup connection...

may I suggest careful use of the smilies, Please.

At least once a session I need to play a couple games of FreeCell waiting for
"connect: Host www.plaudersmilies.ce contacted. Waiting for reply." to load.

    Thanks

Freckles, I am pretty sure that there is a way to turn the smilies off in your user options. Maybe somebody else can tell you exactly how to do that and then you wouldn't have to wait for the smilies to load. Hope that helps.

Freckles, I just did some experimenting around. In user Cp click on edit options. For these three things:

    show user signature
    show user avatars
    show image attachment

click "no". These make is so that when you read posts, you don't see any of the animations, and probably will make your pages load faster. But if you enjoy the animations then you can just keep it as is. Hope this helps!!

Cookiebaker, I did about four variations...

The one that works best for me is
    show user signature - no
    show user avatars - yes
show image attachment - yes, this also shows the image directly.

All the smilies & custom smilies in the text still show up.
I miss the pics in the sigs, but there were some big files (slow loading) & plaudersmilies.de smilies in the sigs, also slow loading. So with "show user sig - no", I'm guessing the loading speed has increased four times - no more FreeCell during the wait.

For anyone who wants to try this, you'll need to shutdown and restart the computer for this to take effect.

    Thanks again, Cookiebaker
