My little soulmate had a stroke and was left with a tilted head walked wobbly and his brain was a little affected, leaving him disoriented

. Yet he was still happy and not in pain, the vet said. His wiggly tail, the gleam in his eyes and sheer determination to walk, showed just what a happy boy he was

. I took time off work to help him with his rehabilitation. Imagine being blind, unable to walk properly, disoriented and not know why…

but I was with him. He made it up and down his ramp and through his doggy door, at first it terrified him, but I was there with him. He retained his dignity and made it his priority to take his business outside, where he had only ever known to take it, bless him. Two weeks after the stroke was his 17th birthday and he even braved the outdoors for a birthday walk

. Alas, it was to be his last. Three days later his organs shut down

. We spent the next 48 hours just being each other’s best friend, God it was the hardest thing. I felt like i was reaching into my own body and tearing out my heart. My boy had come to the end of the road but I’m so lucky to have travelled with him, right to the end

.
My little soulmate has gone to the great Rainbow Bridge in the sky… It hurts Big Time and I miss him ever so much!
I love you Budda Booby
