We took a little trip to our Aunt Mary's house this weekend. We left Saturday morning and got back at 5 today. she lives about 3 hours from here.

We had a good time and might be taking some trips to visit more often. they live in a nice small town right in the middle of the mountains.

    some pics of our Drive

At cousin Bradleys Football game... wearing her toque and mittens her Grammy gave her.

Waiting for dinner... I got that little booster chair at a yard sale for $2 lol and it is PERFECT for travel as a substitute highchair

this is Smoky... I am not a huge cat person but oh my goodness I wanted to take him home too. SUCH a lover.

Aunt mary with her dogs... she has three. the dog in her lap is Dallas... what a stinker she is lol she's only a year old. Mandi is the big black girl in the front and you can just barely see Missy behind her. Missy is a yellow lab mix but don't know what the mix is.

    Beautiful Mandi

    DONE!!!!

Wow, look at all the beautiful trees changing colors! A reminder of why fall is one of my favorite seasons. We will be headed up more into the Ozarks pretty soon to get a better feel of all the fall colors... you just don't see them near as well down here.

Hannah is such a cute kid, especially in that pink hat of hers! I just adore how she always seems to look so happy, she has a smile that can melt anyone's heart.

And Aunt Mary has a bunch of great looking furkids, too.. no wonder you had a great time!
    Thanks for sharing.

It really is... We get the same colors where we are, but Aunt Mary is WAY more remote. LOVE it.

Also, I went on a 3 hour "scout" hike this morning. Aunt Mary and Uncle Dale are going to be seeing a LOT more of me LOL.

I saw, in a scout of about 2 square miles (mostly public, but some of it is owned by my Aunt and Uncle), at least 20 turkeys, at least 12 deer, a coyote, a red fox and TONS of AWESOME scenery.

You can tell there is very little hunting pressure there too. One of the deer was a yearling buck... Wearing 5 or 6 points... He let me get about 20 yards away from him before he took off. Also, I saw a big flock of turkey hens. I gave them a LONG and LOUD "alert" call series. They ran for about 10 yards and stopped. I gave it again and they barely moved.

So not only will I have an abundance of opportunity there, I won't be hurting the local population, save one turkey and one deer. When Uncle Dale bought the lot at the end of the road that leads to this place, he essentially blocked the easy access to the land. Thus, people cannot access the land without trespassing and he posted his lot. (As he should) But, he (obviously) gave me permission to use his land... So I get it almost all to myself. DREAM stuff. (For a hunter.)

    Thanks!

We are really lucky. We both wonder what the 'catch' is. We assume we will find out at 2 and then REALLY find out at like 12 or 13.

    LOL

I love fall the best too. It's just sooooo beautiful. My photos don't do it justice at all.

Thank you... Hannah really is as happy as she appears in her photos. she always has a smile to offer. Hard to feel down when you've got that toothy grin looking back at you.

It was a lovely trip. their house is up a hill and they are the very last house and a good portion of their land is wooded. it's so peaceful and beautiful.

Hubby went on a walk to scout for turkey hunting this morning and he saw bunch of turkeys (the birds... not people haha), a dozen deer, a coyote, and a fox. aunt mary said she had a couple of black bears come down the other day as well. it's an awesome place to have a house.

I haven't seen our group of turkeys we had a few weeks ago, there have been mountain lion sightings so that may be why they are staying elsewhere. Either that or its getting close to thanksgiving

lmao... getting close to thanksgiving. You never cease to crack me up hehe.

OOOOOOOOOH... we ALSO were fortunate enough to have a bald eagle soaring over us at the football game. It was incredible. I have never been lucky enough to see one in the wild... let alone in glorious flight. It was beautiful.

I so wish I didnt have my cam packed on the one river trip I made this year. We came across a bald eagle feeding/guarding a salmon on a sandbar. Ive never seen a BE with that much attitude.

    WOW... what a sight.

I wish I could have gotten a photo but the sun was at my back so it was hard to find him in the viewfinder on the cam because of the glare from behind and he was a good distance away. Luckily Aunt Mary had her binoculars. It's not an experience I will soon forget.

Those mountains are gorgeous! What a nice little trip. I miss PA mountains and Upstate NY. Used to go up there very often but we don't get around to it much anymore. Thanks for bringing back memories Looks like your little cutie had fun. I love Hannah, AND Beezer and Belle. Why do you get all the cute kids and fur kids?
