It really is... We get the same colors where we are, but Aunt Mary is WAY more remote. LOVE it.
Also, I went on a 3 hour "scout" hike this morning. Aunt Mary and Uncle Dale are going to be seeing a LOT more of me LOL.
I saw, in a scout of about 2 square miles (mostly public, but some of it is owned by my Aunt and Uncle), at least 20 turkeys, at least 12 deer, a coyote, a red fox and TONS of AWESOME scenery.
You can tell there is very little hunting pressure there too. One of the deer was a yearling buck... Wearing 5 or 6 points... He let me get about 20 yards away from him before he took off. Also, I saw a big flock of turkey hens. I gave them a LONG and LOUD "alert" call series. They ran for about 10 yards and stopped. I gave it again and they barely moved.
So not only will I have an abundance of opportunity there, I won't be hurting the local population, save one turkey and one deer. When Uncle Dale bought the lot at the end of the road that leads to this place, he essentially blocked the easy access to the land. Thus, people cannot access the land without trespassing and he posted his lot. (As he should) But, he (obviously) gave me permission to use his land... So I get it almost all to myself. DREAM stuff. (For a hunter.)
