    2008 Northeast Bichon Bash!

Despite UNINVITED guest, Tropical Depression Hanna, many fluffs were able to attend and enjoy the 4th Annual Northeast Bichon Bash! It was HUMID, unbelievably so. We’d had downpours overnight, and more were predicted (and did arrived) Saturday night along with the winds. But the day Saturday was rain free, although cloudy.

The Bash is held at Osborndale State Park in Derby, CT. Fluffs, honorary fluffs and their humans attended from Mass., RI, CT, NY and PA. IN all, 88 dogs were registered, not sure how many actually attended.

    On with my photos!

    The cake:

Left, front row: Debra Goldsmith and her husband, with their boy Zoey. They will be helping with the SPR table at Pet Rock next Saturday!
Right, front row: Sherri, her daughter, and her 4 fluffs.

Kathy with her 2 girls, sitting at the left end of the bench where the Goldsmiths are. Bonnie Ferguson standing, far left.

MaryEllen, Mattie May and Sassy Sue

    Is that for ME??

A photographer was present to take fluff photos. We chose to have a family pic, so Dad and I will be in ours. We will receive the photos in the mail in a few weeks.

This beautiful bichon rug from Danbury Mint was up for raffle. BERT WON!!

Debbie Fahey, Team Leader, is also a wildlife rehabilitator. She had 2 charges with her. A baby pigeon:

    And a bottle baby! (kitten)

Small Paws Rescue was formed 10 years ago, so we all received pins (which I donated) to celebrate that:

There were two awesome slide show presentations. Robin sang during both presentations. The first was showing some of the rescued dogs, in the conditions in which they were found. SPR will pull any dog it can, and then contact the appropriate breed rescue, so not all the pics were of fluffs. Many people were in tears; but Robin kept emphasizing that each and every dog shown had been removed and went on to a happy life.

The second was VERY HAPPY, showed fluffs in their adoptive homes, living it up for sure! Wearing doggles and riding in a convertible, letting the breeze blow the ears up, on a motor boat, on a skate board, swimming, photos of fluffs doing what fluffs do best: making everyone smile, because the bichon is a happy, happy HAPPY dog! It was a great presentation.

    Hope you enjoyed!

That is possibly the most awesome event ever held on the planet, Sandie. I can imagine what it must have been like with all those Bichons. Heaven on earth!!!

I can't send enough kudos to all of you for doing what you do. It's a wonderful organization made up of exceptional, special, people. Thanks to all of you. Too bad Barry couldn't have brought Fritz. They would have been all smiles too.

Great pictures. I can't wait to see the one with you and your Dad.
