Thread: All better!

    All better!

Got all my fluff back - see?

No bald spots on my face, no itchy scabs on my neck and shoulders - I'm gorgeous, don't you think?

My human insists that she'll never know for sure, but she thinks it was the fancy dental treats with "Aspergillus niger" in them. She says "Aspergillus niger" is a kind of mold, and she guessed that it might be making me itchy. So she went to the grocery store and got what she calls "plain old cheap dental treats" but what I call yummy! It's called Meow Mix Crustacean Crunch, and I don't mind the silly lurid colors at all because they taste delicious!

I still get a little bit of canned food a day with all the different things mixed in - 3-V Caps, Cosequin, fiber, and chlorpheniramine - although sometimes I don't even eat it unless I finish off all my yummy kibble first. She hasn't been giving me very much kibble, either! I guess she really wants me to eat the canned stuff, or she wouldn't put so much Kitty Kaviar in it (sometimes I just nibble a few flakes off the top and leave the mushy stuff). She thinks I'm nuts - it's "organic" chicken and salmon, whatever that means. But it's at least partly prey food - sometimes I find whole grains of RICE in it! Yuck! I have to be pretty darn hungry to eat GRASS SEED! *sigh*

I'm sure she's doing her best, though. These days she's always trying to get me to stand still for a brushing, and in this damp weather it really does make a difference to have some help keeping my fur untangled. And this morning when she was making her sandwich, I asked nicely, and she gave me a piece of deli turkey! So she's not always so by-the-book. Right now she's still playing with that keyboard, despite the fact it's long past time for us to go to bed, and it's a perfect sleeping night. Mom? Come on, let's catch some ZZZZZs.

    Love, Smudge

Smudge! How beautiful you look! Your fur coat is magnificent!

I am so glad you are feeling as well as you look. Yeah, grass seed is not fun - but at least you have those really yummy new treats!

Wonderful to see the "new" you.

What a handsome boy you are, Smudge! I'm glad you are feeling better, and not itchy any longer!

My guys like the Crustacean Crunch as well, but they only get a few bits of them, otherwise I end up with a lot of colorful barf! They can be such gluttons!

    Smudgie darling,

You are just about the spitting image of my Einstein -- though I do believe that Steinie has a few pounds on you. When I first looked at your beautiful picture, you looked so much like my sweet guy that I did a double-take!

I'm so glad you've gotten your beautiful fluffy coat back as it should be -- you are just gorgeous!

Thank you, everybody! It's even stopped thundering and being so muggy here, and my human surprised me with a new scratch pad for my Turbo Scratcher, sprinkled with fresh catnip! It's great to be a cat, and to have a human, and to be safe and healthy.

What a beautiful baby! Such a beautiful coat and sitting in my favorite position for a cat - we have named it at my house, "the nugget stance"... :-) That is so wonderful Smudge is doing better. Yea for Smudge!
    Sincerely,

Smudge, I'm so glad to hear that you're doing much better. Your coat is gorgeous. You could almost be my Storm's twin except that he has a lion cut right now so it would be very easy to tell you two apart. I hope you continue to feel well.
