Alyssa, she's absolutely adorable. I know your Sassy would have approved.

She is beautiful! Have you wanted a greyhound? I think they are gorgeous. I like the Italian greyhounds too... my brother has one that is a complete lap dog.

YES!! I've wanted one since I first saw my neighbors. Maybe it's fate telling me I will wind up with a greyhound. They are perfect dogs for me, I can tell you that much. They can be as active as they want, and then get really lazy. That's pretty much perfect for me. I showed my mom, but she didn't agree. She thought it was weird though, so shortly after Sassy's death. That was Sassy's most used nickname.

Aww, well you know I'm always an advocate for grey adoption =) Once you're "inducted" into the greyhound world, you become sucked into a wonderful wonderful community. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Greyhound people are the best!

It almost makes you want to adopt the dog for the community Just kidding. I think we can support you in whatever decision you decide.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.

I contacted GFNJ(via e-mail) about her. Of course, my mom still says no. But anyway, they said she arrived at the kennel June 15th, 2 days after Sas died. Weird, no? I also have come to the conclusion that LD's Sassafras isn't really the right dog for my family. It's not a good idea to get a dog now anyway. First of all, it says she is cat-tolerant with supervision which means she could hurt Star when I'm not home, etc. I mean there are always crates and stuff, but what if I am not there for a minute? Star isn't a cat but she's even smaller. We're not always home or able to supervise this. She would do best with another greyhound also. I don't have that, and it would be hard enough for me to get one. Two is absolutely unheard of!! Plus it's summer, I have a job, during the winter/fall/spring I have school. I'm too busy to take care of a dog. Last summer there was no job, and I was NEVER busy after school. But now, it just wouldn't work out.

Of course, when I get older I would sacrific not having smaller pets(dogs are more for me anyhow)/buying a fence/etc. for a greyhound because they are just amazing animals and I can't picture myself with another breed of dog ever again. I am saddened it would not work out, but it just wasn't meant to be. Plus when I'm older I can DEFINITELY get a dog without worrying about someone saying no to me. For now, I will take this as a sign from Sassy that she's Okay and she's not mad at me for having made "the decision". I love you and still miss you, babe. '

Also, I figure it would be foolish to just adopt the dog not suited for my family because of her name. I still think it is a sign of course but it just wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.
