Hi Everyone,
I just had to share this latest blog from Miranda Lambert. If you are from Texas or Tennesee or if you just love great country music, I'm sure you've heard of her. She's an East Texas girl who came in 3rd on Nashville Star a few years ago and she's since made it big in the music business, to the point of winning "Album of the Year" this year at the ACM Awards. But, that's not why I'm writing this. I'm writing this because she is a HUGE ADVOCATE for shelter dogs and raises money for the Smith County Humane Society in East Texas via ebay and other fundraisers. Her boyfriend is country singer, Blake Shelton, from Oklahoma (an amazing singer and very funny guy, cute too). Miranda has either adopted all her pups from the shelter or rescued them from the side of the road or some similar situation. She's a true dog lover just like we all are. Just had to share this blog with you about the latest new member of her furry family, little Hank. The other link is to her website, and the gallery pictures of all of her dogs. Take a look, I think you'll enjoy it. In the gallery, you will see a picture of her bass player who's always had a mohawk...and he gave little Delilah a mohawk too! So cute! Take a look at the pictures of all of her other animals too. She may be a star, but she's a down to earth animal lover too. It's great that she's in a position to influence and educate others about shelter animals and also to raise large amounts of money to benefit them.

HE'S A HANKY DOODLE DANDY!

Well, it just dawned on me that I haven't even properly introduced to y'all the newest member of the family. About 2 months ago I got a text from Blake with a picture of a dog and it said "meet Hank." Immediately I called him back and said, "who's Hank?" He went on to tell me this story: He and his tour manager, Kevin, and his step dad, Mike, went down to the lake (lake Texoma, he lives across the street from it) to check the trotline. For two days in a row this dog was hanging around and he just thought it was some fisherman's or something. The second day when Blake went to get in his truck this dog was sitting right in front of his truck door with this "please take me with you look". SO being the sucker that he is, Blake put him in the truck and took him home. I guess I rubbed off on him. Kevin named him Hank which fits in perfectly with my farm theme I have going (I name all my animals after artists or lyrics.) We didn't tell many people about him early on 'cause were not sure if he would stay around 'cause he is somewhat of a wonderer. When we are on the road we leave him at my farm. He, Jessi and Waylon have become quite fond of each other and we love him to death. I have to say though that he is a very needy dog when it comes to attention. I mean he will literally grab you with his paws and hold on for dear life. I want to get on to him when he does it but it's so cute that I can't!! I put some really cute pics of him up. Blake always sings the Yankee Doodle song to him but says hanky doodle. It's their special song and sometimes I have to get on to Blake and remind him not to play favorites 'cause Delilah hates it when she's not the center of attention. And whether he admits it or not he loves that little dog and here is the proof!
