    Muffen

My nieces bunny went to the bridge over the weekend. She had him for about 4 years. Unfortunately, we think it was the heat that got to him. She always keeps frozen water jugs in the cage, but it was just too darn hot.

    RIP Muffen

I will get some pix and post them later.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

    Unhappy

I am so sorry to hear about that! I am very in love with bunnies, though I have none of my own. My cousin has some that I love like my own, and one of my friends in school has one that died in the exact opposite way, that yours died. Cookie, my friends bunny, died in I think December from the cold temperatures while she was outside. Also, my cousin has gotten four new bunnies since November, when her two very old bunnies died. While my family and my cousin's family were on vacation in Disney World, they were not there to watch the rabbits constantly, though there were people coming to check on them two or three times a day, to put them in their outdoor hutch and open the door to their run, and to put them back at nightfall. Well, while they were in their run a very large animal, (they are still not sure what), got into the pen and killed the bunnies. They are in the process of rebuilding the pen for the four new bunnies. So, I know sort of how you feel about Muffen.

    I'm soo sorry.
Rules for Non-Pet Owners Who Visit and Like to Complain About Our Pets:

    1. They live here. You don't.

    2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the
    furniture.

    3. I like my pet a lot better than I like most people.

    4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.

    5. Dogs and cats are better than kids. They eat less, don't ask for money all the time, are easier to train, usually come when called, never drive your car, don't hang out with drug-using friends, don't smoke or drink, don't worry about buying the latest fashions, don't wear your clothes, don't
need a gazillion dollars for college, and if they get pregnant, you can sell the results.

    Rest in peace, little bunny.

In Miss Hoppy's memory, I would advocate that all rabbits be House Rabbits. Rabbits can be litterbox trained (pretty easily in many cases), and a room - or even most rooms - can be bunny-proofed, and then the bunny is never subjected to the extremes of hot and cold he or she would experience living outside.

I am sorry. Is your niece dealing with it ok? Gosh, the heat sounds like it has been pretty awful in some places this year.
(((Hugs))) and good vibes headed out to all associated with Muffen.

    Rest easy, Muffen.

Oh I'm sure my niece would have loved for him to be a house rabbit. But the parents thought otherwise. Maybe we can talk them into it with the next one (if there is a next one).

My SIL said she took it very hard at first, but she's doing okay now. Thanks for asking.
