Georgia People: Help this 13 Year Old Gal (plus 3 others)

This sweet old gal was abandoned, along with three other senior dogs, by a cold, heartless witch. The reason? She was moving from the country to the city and just decided she didn't want them any more. It's killing me not to be able to take Sassy. I did email the person volunteering to help pay for expenses and asked if someone could foster her. I would love her to know what a real home is like. If anyone can save these dogs, it would be great! Especially Sassy. I would hate for her last days to be in a kill shelter. Now that's an oxymoron, huh?

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

    Senior Rescues

There are senior rescues. Google for senior rescue Georgia. Like you, I am appalled that dogs are repaid for a lifetime of love, joy, love, forgiveness, love, loyalty by ending up on the wrong end of a needle and spending their last days in a stressfilled, noisy cage in a shelter.

There are people devoted to having dogs join their families for their final days. These dogs wait their entire lives for this.

They have all been adopted. At least that what it says on their Petfinder
    pages. I hope it's true.

The lady emailed me back to say "She went to a rescue south of Atlanta but will likely just live her days out there "
    So sad.
