    Cat fights

I just recently got a kitten. Shes about 4 months old now. I also have another cat thats about 9years old whos a female also. And Bella, the kitten, always wants to fight with Baby, the older cat.

Anytime they are together Bella wants to fight. My family usually only lets them out together when someones home to "referee". I feel bad locking one or the other in a room by themselves but Bella refuses to stop. I dont know how to get her to leave Baby alone and Baby wont fight back. She lets Bella bully her.

I dont know what to do its so frustrating.

    Please help

    Thanks!

Boy, I don't know what to say except to let them work it out, while you're there to referee, as you say. My RB Peeka bullied my Pidge something awful and it took a while before there was a peaceful coexistence but it did happen eventually. Perhaps someone else on PT can be more helpful to you. We're sending good vibes your way......

I agree with Medusa. With our bunch we have disagreements all the time. We also have swart bottles all over the house. If things seem too get too rough, I'm a good aim with the bottle.

Bella is most likely just trying to play with your older cat Baby. Baby is probably bothered by this so it looks like they're fighting. Some kittens will play very rough. You may need to reintroduce them again very slowly.

Is Baby an active cat or does she like to sleep a lot and enjoy her peace and quiet? I ask this because if she doesn't like to play then this will most likely be an ongoing problem. There's also a very big age difference between the cats so if you can you may want to think about adopting another kitten or a cat that's more playful and closer in age to Bella. Good luck.
