    my toby dog

    Hi...I am new here but had to find a place...I just recently lost my toby dog of 7 years...he was attacked and didn't survive..he was taken from me easter weekend and I just feel so lost...I had him cremated and they did an awesome job on his ceramic paw print...I wished he was in better condition so I could of had him done by a taxidermist but not the case....I just can't stop crying and my other lil dogs (his kids) are in as bad shape as I am...they are so depressed...when does it get to the point you can look at a picture or talk about them without crying so hard you make yourself sick.....he was my strength..he stayed by my side when I was ill...he made me laugh and smile when no one else could

    I'm so sorry you lost your Toby. It's very painful for a very long time when we lose one of our furkids. I don't think you ever get over missing them but the pain, in time, will be more bearable. Toby is at the Rainbow Bridge now, he is happy and he'll be waiting for you to join him one day. There are many people here who have been through this and will talk to you to help you, one being me. {hugs}

    Hello there. I am so sorry to read of the awful time you have had with Toby. He is pain free now and romping at the Bridge.

    The other puppers are sad and miss him, but they are also picking up on your emotions.

    Have you tried writing in a journal, writing him a letter each day? Tell him how much you love and miss him, and tell him what his 'kids' are doing. Tell him how you feel, and oh just whatever you wish to say to him.

    He has a special place in your heart, and he will always be YOUR Toby. You won't forget him; sometimes people worry that if they stop grieving they will forget. No, you will never forget how wonderful he was. And over time, the hurt will lessen.

    I pray that you find some peace. That is what Toby would want for you, so you can be the best doggie mom ever for his kids.

    I'm so sorry you lost your Toby.

    Next month, June 6th, will be one year since I sent my Toby to the bridge.
    Her situation was much different than you Toby's was. She was older, and had bone cancer. The tumor was on her hip bone and was cutting circulation off to her leg. Sending them to the bridge when they are old and have lived a long happy life is much easier to take. But in cases as your... when they are taken from us suddenly, it makes it hurt so much worse.
    As I said, it's been a year since my Toby's passing and when I hear "her song" my eyes well up with tears and I replay every second of that day over.

    The other dogs are feeding off of you, they can sense you are depressed and are following your lead because after all, you are their leader.

    Please take comfort in knowing that Toby is now running free at the bridge and will be watching over you until you meet again.

    It's been 5 years since I lost my Cody, and not a day goes by that I don't think about him. I even call my Logan "Cody" sometimes. He is always in my heart. The pain never leaves you, but it becomes more bearable. Any cause of death is devastating, but, having saved a puppy from a viscious attack, it never leaves your mind. What you must always remember and think about are the happy times you spent together and how safe and loved Toby felt with you. That means you did a good job. Please spend extra time with good loving with your other dogs. Toby is romping at Rainbow Bridge now and, trust me, is watching you always. Hugs to you.

    I am sory you lost your Toby in such a tragic way. But I know that he is still with you, in your heart. How nice that you have his "kids" and you all can start the healing process together.

    I am so sorry about the loss of your beloved Toby. If there is anything we can do to help you cope, you only have to ask.

    He will never be far from your side
