ANYONE near ELKART KANSAS?? ALL SET post 2

I am cross posting this on all 3 forums I frequent. Small Paws Rescue newsletter from Robin:

    Tuesday Evening, May 20, 2008

We have another urgent situation tonight. There is a just absolutely precious Bichon girl in a kill shelter in Elkart, Ks. on DEATH ROW unless we can get to her first.

The shelter will release her to us but this area is one of those we can't seem to get to from here.

Is there ANYONE out there near this town? Do any of you KNOW anyone who is near this town?

We will pay for gasoline and meals and motel if you need it.

You do NOT have to already be a volunteer since this is a matter of life and death. JUST AS IN THE EARLY DAYS OF SPR WE NEED A WARM LIVE BODY PLEASE!

We really need someone to be able to get to her tomorrow!

    Elkart KS. is:

    322 Miles to Winfield, Kansas

    350 Miles to Oklahoma City

    273 Miles to Pueblo, Colorado

    257 Miles to Russell, Kansas

    145 Miles to Amarillo, TX

Joy Flora ([email protected]) arranged a temporary hold on this girl, but time is of the essence here. HELP and please crosspost!

    Thanks, Robin

Just took a peak at mapquest, from Norman OK to Elkhart, KS, is 328 miles; about 6 hours drive ONE WAY!!!!

This wee girl was picked up at 2:30 PM. the shelter had NO info on her health or anything. At least now her name is Small Paws, so she has lots of help behind her.

Glad to hear someone was able to get her out. That is quite a road trip. What a generous person to give so much of their time and gas for this little girl!
