Who We Are
Chinese Companion Animals Protection Network (CCAPN) was launched in 2004, it is a cooperation network of groups, individuals working for companion animal protection from Chinese communities . By August 10th 2007, there are 40 groups and more than 500 individuals within this network. CCAPN supervise and support the animal protection work of our member groups, it also faciliate the exchange resources and information between groups and individuals.
CCAPN is the first project of Chinese Animal Protection Network (CAPN).
I have attached their recent newsletter. It deals with their latest campaign aimed directly at the slaughter of companion pets for meat and fur. It is not graphic and there are no gross pictures at all. It is heartening to see what these people are doing. The English is a little 'off' but very understandable.
There is a link on the page to their no-killing-for-food petition. Also - as a new generation and middle class emerge who truly love their pets, attitudes are starting to change.
