    Dog seizures

I'm looking to get information from other dog owners about seizures. My 5 year old Rottweiler has had 3 that I have seen, and all of them have been when I am leaving for work in the morning at 7:30 a.m. The first was in April, second was in June and the third was just a couple of weeks ago.
At first I thought it was coincidence, but three seizures at the very same time? Does it have anything to do with me leaving for work, because obviously I do that every day.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

From the little I know, dogs can have seizures triggered by any number of things, allergies, stress, epilepsy, etc.
My sister-in-law's malamute mix has seizures that they control with Phenobarbitol. it started with an infection and they really aren't sure if the two are realted or not, but if he doesn't get his medicine regularly he dies have seizures.
I would talk with you vet. See if they can help figure out weather the seizures are being triggered by a medical condition or an outside stimulus, and then how to treat it.

I would take him to the vet ASAP and find out what you can do and what is causing the seizures. I'm sure there will be some kind of medication to give him (maybe to help).

I'm sorry to hear that about your rotti.

I have a dog who has epilepsy. We immediately contacted our vet when her seizures started, and he ran several blood tests to determine whether it was from other causes. It's kind of a process of elimination to determine if it is epilepsy or not. There are a couple of websites that have a lot of helpful information you may want to check out:

My friend's Yorkie had seizures, but her seizures cam along in hot weather. They thought that maybe she was stressed when her body heat rose. Tehy kept her inside during the hot hours to avoid that.
