    New kitten..bit of a rant..Pictures added.

My parents and sister went to the mall today and stopped in Petland.
My sister found a kitten she thought was really cute and liked and so my parents were contemplating to get it for her for christmas .
I texted my mom who already knows how much I hate pet stores and gave her the typical shelter cats lectur and they came home without the kitten.
I was so happy at that point and they were looking at shelter kittens.
But noo she had to have a kitten TODAY so they went back and got the one from the stupid pet store..
Don't bash me I tried my hardest to get them to not get it but they still did knowing full well how wrong it is.
I hate the idea of getting a pet store pet but I hate even more of them being christmas presents for kids.

I don't know what her name is but it's a female DL calico.
I'll get pictures later I just wanted to rant.

    Here's some pictures.

Well, look at it this way: pet store animals need homes, too. I feel the way you do about pet stores but this kitten was still sitting in a cage whether it was a pet store or the humane society or the pound or wherever, at least she now has a home.
    Blessings,
    Mary

You did your best. NOW: do NOT hold it against this little kittie; give her all the love and petting she can handle, and let us see her PHOTO!

I know they need homes too but now that just makes room for another kitten to come in and the people to keep breeding.

I'm not holding anything against the kitten, that wouldnt be fair for it to be somewhere that it isn't liked by someone. It's still a cute little kitten and it did nothing wrong.

    BC,

Well, you tried. Proud of you, girl!

Christmas is a tough time to find kittens. EVERYONE wants kittens. Then a year down the road when these kittens become cats, they're not cute any more. Alot of rescue organizations won't adopt kittens out for Christmas.

It breaks my heart because there are so many loving senior cats out there who just want a nice warm lap and a little loving.

Rest In Peace Casey (Bubba Dude) Your paw print will remain on my heart forever. 12/02
Mollie Rose, you were there for me through good times and in bad, from the beginning.Your passing will leave a hole in my heart. We will be together "One Fine Day". 1994-2009
MooShoo, you left me too soon.I wasn't ready.Know that you were my soulmate and have left me broken hearted.I loved you like no other. 1999 - 2010See you again "ONE FINE DAY"
Maya Linn, my heart is broken. The day your beautiful blue eyes went blind was the worst day of my life.I only wish I could've done something.I'll miss your "premium" purr and our little "conversations". 1997-2013 See you again "ONE FINE DAY"

What a lovely little kitten! I just want to pet her soft fluffy fur and hear her little meow. I'm curious to hear what name she ended up with!

Well she obviously won't my parents are a little more responsible like that and know they will be taking care of it. I'm not happy about the situation but I can't do anything, I tried.

Were Ducky and Milo and Ivy shelter cats?? I thought they were from a breeder, not saved from a shelter. Maybe I misread previously.

Ducky and Ivy were cats listed as needing new homes they weren't from a breeder just people giving them away. I think that is the same as getting one from a shelter.
Milo was from a proper breeder.
If there were Sphynx in shelters I would get them from there.
It's a little different when your dealing with a rare breed..
And a little different then getting them from a pet store especialy Petland.

She's adorable and I'm glad that she found a new loving home before Christmas. I hope that she's healthy and will settle in with the others well. Like others have said, at least she's not still sitting in a cage.

Well at least you gave it a shot, its not your fault they have weak conscious.
I'm kinda happy that most of the petstores in Louisville, KY use pound pups and kittens. So your not getting a breeder pet but there are some that still do that around here but the big ones don't. I hardly think of my Stormy becoming a Senior he could be considered on he turned 7 this July, or at lest I think so. I think its a pretty good idea not to adopt out kittens during the holiday season.
